So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
~Psalm 90:12~

HOW TRUE IT IS.......

Another year has passed
And we're all a little older.
Last summer felt hotter
And winter seems much colder.

I rack my brain for happy thoughts,
To put down on my pad,
But lots of things that come to mind
Just make me kind of sad.

There was a time not long ago
When life was quite a blast.
Now I fully understand
About "Living in the Past".

We used to go to friends homes,
Football games and lunches.
Now we go to therapy, to hospitals,
And after-funeral brunches.

We used to go out dining,
And couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
Come home and take a pill.

We used to often travel
To places near and far.
Now we get backaches
From riding in the car.

We used to go out shopping
For new clothing at the Mall
But, now we never bother...
All the sizes are too small.

That, my friend is how life is,
And now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
Before you're too darn old!!

A man's age is something impressive, it sums up his life:
maturity reached slowly and against many obstacles,
illnesses cured, grief’s and despairs overcome,
and unconscious risks taken; maturity formed through
so many desires, hopes, regrets, forgotten things, loves.
A man's age represents a fine cargo of experiences and memories.
~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry~

Father Time is not always a hard parent, and,
though he tarries for none of his children, often lays
his hand lightly upon those who have used him well;
making them old men and women inexorably enough,
but leaving their hearts and spirits young and in full vigor.
With such people the grey head is but the impression of the
old fellow's hand in giving them his blessing, and every wrinkle
but a notch in the quiet calendar of a well-spent life.
~Charles Dickens~

The first sign of maturity is the discovery that
the volume knob also turns to the left.
~Jerry M. Wright~

I recently had my annual physical examination,
which I get once every seven years,
and when the nurse weighed me,
I was shocked to discover how much
stronger the Earth's gravitational pull
has become since 1990. ~Dave Barry~

You are as young as your faith,
as old as your doubt;
as young as your self-confidence,
as old as your fear;
as young as your hope,
as old as your despair.
~Douglas MacArthur~
